Artist Handling at Awakenings Upclose 2024

Artist Handling at Awakenings Upclose 2024 was the first professional experience in the live events industry, as part of an internship at Monumental Productions. The event took place at Spaarnwoude and spanned roughly a week in total, with a build-up of several days, two show days, and a day of breakdown. In the three months leading up to the event the artist advancing was handled under the guidance of internship supervisor Janneke Renting — coordinating hospitality, finalising guest lists, checking backstage areas, preparing the artist village, and making sure everything the artist crews needed was in place before show day. On the show days the role moved to the artist desk under the supervision of Niek Reijhaan, acting as the central hub for on-site artist logistics and communication.
